Three archetypes, one heuristic
After a few dozen agent launches on AgentForge, three pricing patterns keep winning:
- Rent-per-run ($1–$50). Highest volume. Wins for repetitive, well-scoped tasks like triage, classification, or single-page analysis.
- Rent-per-job ($50–$500). Wins for outcome-shaped work with a clear deliverable — SEO articles, contract reviews, real-estate memos.
- Buy-out ($200–$3,000). One-time. Fits agencies who want to embed a proven workflow forever.

Why $4.99 outsells $199
Because agents on a marketplace compete on a "should I even try this" decision. At $4.99 the answer is always yes. At $199 the answer requires a meeting. Volume wins compounding data, compounding data wins the leaderboard, and the leaderboard is what drives the next 100 buyers.
The 30% platform-fee mistake
Fees above ~15% push power creators to build direct-to-customer alternatives. AgentForge caps fees at 20% for Free tier and drops to 8% at Premium — this keeps the top of the pyramid loyal while free-tier fees pay for growth experiments.

Anti-patterns
